How ordering, designing and delivery work on Dar Al Ghazal.
- Who makes the pieces?
- Independent Saudi makers. Each studio lists its own work, sets its own production time and makes your piece by hand. A basket with two studios in it becomes two orders, each made and shipped separately.
- Can I design something myself?
- Yes. The Creative Studio takes you through thirteen steps — silhouette, size, material, colours, pattern, handles, accessories, personalisation and gift wrapping — and every step is optional. When you are happy with it, you send it to a studio, who reviews it and quotes a price.
- Is the preview what my bag will look like?
- It is a drawing built from your selections, and it is accurate about what you chose. It is not a photograph of the finished piece. Handmade work varies naturally in yarn, weave and finish, which is part of what you are buying.
- How is a custom price decided?
- The Studio shows a running estimate while you design. The price is what the studio quotes once they have seen the design, and you see every line of that quotation before you accept it.
- Can I pay online?
- Not yet. Online payment is not activated on this site, so nothing can be charged here. If you accept a quotation, the order is booked and our team contacts you to arrange payment.
- When can I review something?
- Once it has been delivered. Reviews are attached to a delivered order, which is why every review you read here came from somebody who actually received the piece.
